I read every email and try to respond within a day or two.
Tap the + button on the main screen, enter the person’s name and birthday, and optionally assign them to a group. That’s it.
Everything stays on your device. Candles doesn’t have a server, doesn’t use the cloud, and doesn’t share your data with anyone. No accounts, no sign-in.
Go to Settings → Export to save a .birthdays file. You can email it to yourself, save it to Files, or AirDrop it to another device. To restore, open the file and Candles will import it.
Export a .birthdays file on your old phone (Settings → Export), get it to your new phone (iCloud Drive, AirDrop, email), install Candles, and open the file to import.
Yes — export a .birthdays file and send it to them. They can import it into their own copy of Candles.

Yes. Open a birthday and adjust the reminder timing — same day, day before, a week ahead, or a combination.
Right now Candles is focused on birthdays. If anniversaries would be useful to you, let me know — I’d love to hear it.
Swipe left on the row in the list view, or open the birthday and tap Delete.
Not currently. Candles is iOS-only.
